Description
PARIS, FRANCE
THE SHINING CITY ON THE RIVER
The City of Light casts a centuries-old spell as a world capital of beauty, art, and culture.
It was France that gave us the historical period known as the Enlightenment, and there is no better incarnation of that ideal than its capital, Paris. It’s in the way the soft grey and white walls of the buildings of the old city glow on a sunny day. How golden cupolas and statues on bridges gleam in the setting sun, which lingers so long in the summer. The way lights shimmer on the ripples of the Seine at night, and, in the distance, sparkle on the Eiffel Tower.
The French have long kept Paris one of the most exquisitely curated urban environments in the world. The core city remains by almost sacrosanct law unchanged; the only skyscraper visible in the distance from certain streets is the Montparnasse tower…
Paris’s famous treasures may be inexhaustible, but it’s what any visitor can discover for themselves that can prompt the most delight.
