A “microcation” is defined as six days or less, except in the biggest cities (like London, Chicago, and Paris) where it’s more like a week.

For such a microcation, be prepared to plan extensively, get familiar with public transportation in advance, and buy as many advance/skip-the-line tickets and make as many reservations as possible (especially at noteworthy restaurants, which could easily be full the whole week you’re there). Above all get a paper street map. Google Maps is (usually, not always) okay for Point-A-to-Point-B, but not for this. Besides, you don’t want to walk through a fascinating new place with your eyes glued to your phone – better you should occasionally attract amused looks checking your old school map.
